Is my child a candidate for minimally invasive dentistry in Apple Valley, MN?

Believe it or not, your child can look forward to going to the dentist. And at our Apple Valley pediatric dental office, the goal is for every child to achieve optimal oral health without feeling anxious or scared.

With minimally invasive dentistry, we use the latest techniques and technologies to avoid traditional “drilling and filling.”

So, is my child a candidate for minimally invasive dentistry?

Signs Your Child May Benefit From a Minimally Invasive Approach

Some of our minimally invasive treatment options include the following:

  • Dental crowns — When a baby tooth has extensive decay, we may be able to place a crown over it, protecting it until it comes out naturally.
  • Fillings — For smaller cavities, we can replace traditional drilling and filling with a silver diamide fluoride treatment or use non-electric hand instruments to remove decay.

What Happens If Minimally Invasive Treatment Isn't Right for Your Child?

Whenever possible, we’ll use minimally invasive treatments, but in certain circumstances, it may not be possible:

  • Deep tooth decay
  • Severe pain or swelling
  • Broken tooth structure
  • Certain allergies
