Dr. Katie Nordeen
Pediatric Dentist, Orthodontist
Dr. Katie Nordeen was born and raised in Mendota Heights and spent her childhood in Apple Valley doing gymnastics at TAGS South, just a few miles down the road. After graduating from high school, she continued her gymnastics career at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning a BA in Spanish and chemistry while competing for the Varsity Women’s Gymnastics team.
After college, Dr. Katie attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and also met her husband, Dr. Kyle. Upon graduation, Dr. Katie was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Following graduation, Drs. Katie and Kyle spent three years working together as general dentists in Hayward, Wisconsin at NorthLakes Community Dental Clinic. Her practice experience inspired her to pursue additional training in pediatric dentistry. She completed pediatric dental residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, earning a specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry as well as a Master of Science in Dentistry degree. Dr. Katie practiced pediatric dentistry in both the Twin Cities area and in Iowa City, where Dr. Kyle completed his residency training in pediatric dentistry.
After four years of practice in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Katie completed residency training in orthodontics at the University of Minnesota. Since orthodontic care is such an important element of oral health care for pediatric and adolescent patients, she loves providing both comprehensive pediatric dentistry and orthodontics to her patients under one roof.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, trying new local restaurants, and spending time outdoors with Dr. Kyle, their two sons, James and Teddy, extended family and friends.
